Energy efficiency and benefits of simulation in building design

Introduction

To design a building that meets the aesthetics, occupant comfort and energy efficiency in the operation, as well as investment cost optimization is really a challenge.

The use of computers to model buildings with different design options in terms of geometry, lighting, choices of insulation, glazing, air conditioning system,… to predict whole building energy consumption will help to compare and evaluate the effectiveness of each alternative.

The energy simulation results (quantitative) will be a solid basis to help designers (architects, engineers, etc.) come up with optimal design solutions to solve the above challenge, and also to present the design in a convincing way.
